Around and about

Northern Spain is a hidden gem - quiet roads, tranquil villages, breathtaking mountains and deep wooded valleys. Bustling towns are scattered across the region where you can chat with locals, relax in the bars and restaurants, hunt for gourmet specialities in traditional delicatessens or find all your needs at the large supermarkets.

Casa Tres Pozos is in the village of Cebolleros within the Merindad de Cuesta Urria, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village is at the heart of a wide valley bordered by the Tesla mountain range to the south and Cantabrian mountains to the west and north. Situated at 6o0m above sea level 'the Merindades' enjoy long, hot summers and robust winters with beautiful snow falls.  If you're looking for authentic Spain, you will find it here.

Leisure activities

Head to the Reinosa ski resort in under an hour for a fun afternoon out or spend a weekend at the major Pyrenees ski resorts less than 3 hours away.

The area is criss-crossed with walking and cycling trails including some of the 'Grandes Recorridos' and pilgrim routes - including the Camino de Santiago - taking in Spain's 'silent villages', picturesque towns and stunning scenery. Local restaurants and Casa Rurales offer welcome respite to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Closer to home, the local area boasts many rivers, lakes and reservoirs - including the mighty Ebro - with many idyllic locations for fishing, kayaking, boating and swimming

Eating and drinking

The world famous Rioja and Riberio de Duero wine districts are both within easy striking distance from Casa Tres Pozos. Plus, this area is famed for its Gastro cuisine with three of Spain's seven Michelin 3 star restaurants located in San Sebastian!
